Is my life a lie?
The recent proposed moving of the Wizards and Capitals to Northern Virginia has led me to question my very identity as a native Washingtonian thanks to three recent pieces by Washington Post columnists. I was born in Arlington hospital in 1960 and raised in Falls Church. To grow up in 1960’s Northern Virginia was an identity crisis on its own. Attending segregated schools until the fifth grade, although the classes remained segregated for one year, I never knew a Black kid until the sixth grade.
